3vze oil pan bolts

3vze oil pan bolts
So I need some advice. I can't believe I couldn't find someone else on hear with the same problem. Anyway. I bought a used 3vze block and rebuilt it. when I was rebuilding it I didn't notice that almost all of the holes that hold on the oil pan are completely stripped. A really stupid mistake on my part. It has been a year now and the oil pan is leaking like a sieve. I am thinking about just drilling the holes out more and putting nuts and bolts on it. I don't really feel like trying to tap that many holes in aluminum. How would you guys recommend fixing this?

I don't recall if the engine block part of the flange is inside or outside the block - if it's on the outside you could just get longer bolts, thread them through the stripped holes, and put nuts on the other side.
You could try heli-coils too instead of re-tapping it all.
Isn't the block cast iron?

It does have a flange on the outside. And yea. the block is iron. I don't know why I was thinking it was aluminum. stupid me. Well thanks. I think I will just put nuts and bolts on it.
