Fabricated rack and soft top?
I need a roof rack that can hold some weight. I found this diagram:

and was wondering if anyone had experience with a rack of this style. I have seen them used on pick up trucks, but they don't have issue of front cab seal. General discussion seems that a rack of this nature will not work with the factory hard top due to the front seal with the cab. The 1/8 to 1/4 "lift" that this rack puts on the top keeps it from making the seal. Solution, soft top that goes underneath?
I assume the soft top hardware could be mounted to the rack base plate. Thoughts? Will call CanBack and see what they have to say.
