Replacing power lead to under hood fuse box

I'm in the middle of a big 3 mod and want to also change out the ragged looking power lead to the under hood fuse box.

Looking up inside the box from the bottom, it appears that the cable has a crimp on connector with a screw going through it. However, access to the screw is contained within the fuse box. Does the outer shell of the box come off?

As you have probably figured out by now, yes you can take that box off and get in there pretty easily. I think I had to bend the eye of the new cable and kind of smash everything together to get it back in but it stayed.

You can redo the fusible link if you desire. Someone on here did a write up on that.

Thanks for the reply. I could tell that it came apart, but I couldn't figure out how. I turned it over to a mechanic because I ran out of time and also my prior luck with trying too hard and breaking things without knowing for sure how they come apart.

Mine did not have a fusible link. Was that inline on the original cable? What was it rated to?
