I have some time off coming to me between Christmas and New Years as does my BIL (2010 Tacoma)-he's just coming along for the ride but I'll be on the hunt for goodies for my '91. The main objective is 4.88s from a V6/Auto/31" 4Runner, but what else should I be looking for. IE: would it be worth it to take the rear axle shafts from the runner too since they'll work in my truck and I'll have to slide them out anyway to get the 3rd? Would it be worth it to grab an extra set of hubs to refurbish and carry with me as spares? I'm going to go through the "Best Junkyard Mods" thread for other ideas.

 

Hubs yes. Hubs are easily worth $100 a pair. Grab as many as you can.

Shafts...meh, not a common breaking point. And possibly not bolt in due to how the e brake cable is routed.
