'85 4x4 pickup - new buyer inspection input

I'm looking at an '85 std cab/long bed this weekend. First time 4x4 and Yota buyer. I was hoping to get a general list of what to look for when inspecting these trucks. If there is a thread already designated for this i apologize, please direct me there. I have a difficult time searching these forums for some reason, newb

Im planning on bringing a mechanic w/ me, but would like to make sure that he & I dont overlook something major. Ive done some reading, picked up stuff like: straight body/frame, rust-free, timing chain/guide condition, obvious leaks, tranny shifting, 4wd engages...Any other tips or direction would be fantastic. Im looking forward to becoming an official member of this community! Thanks a miliion.

The truck is apparently stock. It is an automatic... ~150k miles. Seller doesnt seem to know much about the truck, cant speak to the originality of anything really, could be odometer fraud for all i know. Ill def run the VIN # if im interested and my friend thinks its not a p.o.s.

Other than that...No visible rust, passes smog, new starter. Seller has only owned it a year, needs something bigger for his business. He says he bought it off a mechanic...He's never used the 4wd...Definitely doesnt have the records or mechanical info that i would obviously like to have, but sounds honest over the phone (whatever that's worth). The price is 3200 and pictures look pretty clean.

Again, this IS my first rodeo so any sorta checklist or advice would be great. Thanks again.
