steering/braking problem

steering/braking problem

I have a 93 v/6 4runner and have a real problem with the power steering and or anti lock brakes -- when it is cold froim sitting all night its fine but after I have driven it for a number of miles the steering gets real squirlly and binds up tugs and pulls left and when I apply the brakes I am getting a bad grinding noise and pullseing in the brake pedal the pads are in good shape and rotors are fine it does need rear shoes what can the problem be I am totally stumped ---- can a bad pitman or idler arm cause this? HELP

I an not sure how or why toyota connected the anti lock brakes to the power steering pump. So that is a good place to start.
