Wanted: Fuel Tank Internal Fuel Pickup Picture

1982 Pickup 22R Carb Engine, Manual trans, Mechanical Fuel Pump:
I'm getting no real fuel volume from the fuel tank to fuel filter mounted on fender well. Disconnected inlet to fuel filter and ran a fuel line from a gas can to the filter inlet and I get real good suction and real good fuel delivery to carb and engine runs well. Looks like I'll need to pull the gas tank and get inside but would like to know beforehand what the fuel pickup looks like inside the tank. Is there a screen or anything? How far is the pickup from the bottom of the tank? How much sediment would cause a weak fuel supply? Pictures would be nice.
Thanks
P.S.
If I had an electric in tank fuel pump I'd know all the answers.

I am currently working on this problem now. Go to my 83 restore below here. I have pics. The fuel line is most likely partially clogged and the filter at the end of the pickup line is hard as a rock and full of junk.

Thanks Terrys87,
That was my issue. After I pulled the pickup tube out of the tank today it was obvious. My strainer was partially clogged but the pickup tube was about half shut. It was teasing me with low fuel volume at the fuel pump and carb. Luckily my strainer is useable since I imagine they are no longer available in the stock format?
Thanks again!
