Zach92Yota 1992 Pickup Build Thread
New to the site so i figured id post up my truck and its SLOW progress lol. Its my first toyota so any advise on gearing what to change etc would be appreciated. i bought the truck last december and its basically been siting there. i bought it from a buddy of mine who bought it to resale. He sold the wheels and tires and i bought the rest for $500. The guy he bought it from couldnt get it running. they was fixing to pull the motor when he decided to sell it so when i bought it, it had the intake and starter off of it. Well me and my brother started to put it back togethor to see why it wouldnt run. Got it all togethor and cranked it up, ran for about 60 seconds and died. leaked about half a qt of oil and alota antifreeze. Upon further investogation everything had been siliconed togethor. Well after nearly no debate out came the motor. Tore it down and found the problem. The block was a late 22r(i think) with the tall deck block and it had the short deck block pistons and rods. Luckily my brother was in the progress of building another toyota and had a spare 22re block that we took to the machine shop, had bored .30 over. Got the head of the 22re he was building and cleaned it real good, got a complete gasket set, bearing set, etc. Got everything to put it togethor the right way. Got the crank sitting in it and thats as far as its gotten so far.
As far as the rest of the truck goes its still IFS with i think about a 5" suspension lift and a 3" body lift. Heres the truck the day i bought it

After we got it in the garage we test fitted my brothers 38's on it..id say they fit

Since how my plans for this is to be a daily driver/ wheeler i gotta go a lil more reasonable with some 33's. Got the body lift off the truck so itll look a lil better with the 33's. Havnt got them mounted on the truck yet but heres the wheels and tires going on it

Thats as far as its gotten so far. hopefully this week we'll get the motor togethor, and get the wheels on the truck. I plan on building a stinger and rocksliders for it, as well as straight axle in the near future
