electronic to mechanical speedometer ?

I have a 91 5speed , when i bought it i noticed the speedometer didnt work. figured it was a broken cable or something.
once i got home I checked it out and the transmission and transfer case has been swapped in from something newer with the electronic sender for the speedometer.

my question is , is it possible to change the electronic sender to the older mechanical type ?
and what i would need to do so.

I did search but only found people swaping the opposite way using a marlin crawler part that wont work for me.
I'm tired of "flowin with traffic"to gauge speed. especially when there is no other car other than a highway patrol following you...

You should be able to rather easily. You may have to change the gear though.

It may be easier to replace the speedo to an electric version.

yes .. very possable .
just get the "bolt on" speedo drive (used) , and swap it out with the electric one .. add the cable and attach it to your speedo cluster , and your done

I did the exact oposit on my trekker , I wanted the electronic unit
