Hi All - I'm searching for a good and reputable transmission mechanic in the East Bay area. I have a 88 Yota 4x4 with a 5 speed and the 22re motor. My 4th gear is completely shot and I need to get it fixed, as well, it may just be time for a rebuild.

The transmission shops around the area have mixed reviews.

Does anyone have any recommendations or experience with a local shop that they can share? Of course price is always an issue, but I also don't mind paying for quality work.
