I have a Jasper rebuilt engine with less than 5000 miles on it, the head gasket blew on it. I aquired it in a 4Runner i'm just parting out, but have NO IDEA where to set the price on this engine.

Would like to sell the engine + all the accessories, anybody got any ballpark numbers for me?

 

5000 miles with a blown hg?? maybe 300-400 bucks?

list it for a lot and then come down... my buddy listed a 3.0 for 800 as a joke and a guy offered 750... you never know who's willing to pay way more than then need to.

 

slap another hg on and around me (bay area) with 5k miles you could sell it for 1000 easy but everything in the "BAY" is higher priced

 

Just a quick question, doesn't the warranty go with the engine?

All of our longblocks have 3 yr 100k parts & labor-- and I know that jasper has a similar warranty.

If it's only been 5k...You might want to talk to the previous owner - or give Jasper a call.

 

Go to a Jasper reseller, give them the number on the Jasper tag and they can get the info on the engine.
They will be able to determine the date of install and the mileage on the engine.
This will get you the warranty info on the engine..
Not sure if they will warranty it if you have pulled it from the truck.
They will require that an approved shop diagnose the problem and they will reimburse you for the charges.
I only say this because I had a jasper trans in a truck and that is what I would have had to do....
