w50 and w56 same bellhousing?
hi guys new here, just wondering if the w50 and w56 gearboxes have the same bellhousing?
As well as an original '83 40series Landcruiser. i have a 2a landrover with a 245 hemi and have been offered an adaptor kit which was used with a 2wd valiant with a w50 gearbox. id obviously want 4wd and would therefore like to use a w56 as it will already have a transfercase.
so again to my question; do they have the same casing/bellhousing so i could use it?
cheers
Andrew

The W50 was mostly used in 1976-1981 Celicas. It has a shorter bellhousing (face to transmission mount) than the later W56/W58 series transmissions did, despite using the same mounts. So my answer would be no.
