CODE 52... but with some real attempt at diagnosis
#1
vehicle:91 yota 22re 4x4 auto dlx
history: had head plained, installed new gasket adjusted valves cold 8 and 12 runs decent but slight valve tapping. still need to tweek maybe 7-11 or what ever. Timing is done with light and is almost right. I will tweek the timming when I get the valves, PCV and KS squared. hopefully
Installed used 02 sensor
Installed used AFM
all codes gone untill....
symtom: code 52 after 2000 rpm
diagnose: the KS wire tests good on continuity.
I unplugged the ecu to reset it and I have found that this is the only way to clear the codes after failing to reset the ecu by neg battery disconnect or the EFI fuse pull.
After resetting the ecu and with TE1 and E1 jumpered I get a steady ck eng flash.
I pull the jumper and start up and rev to 2000 rpms according to my guage and imediately the ck light illuminates.
Pull the intake. Pull the KS wire, pull back the shielding, solder a ground to the shielding, add extra aluminum shielding to the black wire casing that got exposed during this whole process. Made completely sure that no shielding was in contact with the female connector that fits inside the KS before taping every thing up.
Reset the ECU and still get the code 52 but at a higher rpm?
