Is my manual hub missing something?

I have a 98 tacoma 4x4. So today I removed the free wheeling hub body(Aisin) to figure out why it only turns 1/4 turn. But upon removal, I think I may be missing a bolt. The Chilton manual shows a center bolt to remove once the hub body has been taken off, but there isn't a center bolt, only a hole where it looks like a bolt should be. Am I missing this bolt or is it only present on certain models? Could this contribute to the hub's inability to turn? I've read thru all the posts I could find relating to the manual hubs, but haven't seen this addressed so I'm asking it here. Thanks.

Hub been removed lately by others for work? By you?
Sunk in mud/water? Might just need disassembly, cleaning, greasing and rebuild.

To my knowledge based on PO's info, this hub has never been removed. When it's attached, it only turns 1/4 of the way, but once removed, I can turn it all the way to lock. I do plan on doing a rebuild on both sides, but I was curious if there was a part missing(the center bolt) since the manual shows there's one to remove. Any idea if there's supposed to a bolt there?

there should be one there unless you have a snap ring instead

It looks like I have a snap ring. I assume you mean a snap ring that's holding the main hub body onto the spline? I also found out why the dial wouldn't turn. It looks like someone had removed the hub dial assembly and reinstalled it in the wrong position. After making sure the components went to together properly, I turned it clockwise until the next set of gear teeth lined up. Lo and behold it works!!! I'll have to give the PO a stern talking to since he's my dad. Lol. Thanks for the help guys.

There should be a bolt period. Even if you have a snap ring. Though, I've been wheeling my Tacoma for the past 2 years without those 2 center bolts and haven't had an issue.
The main hub body is held on by the 6 bolts and cone washers. Behind that, you will see a snap ring around the axle splines and then a star washer.

Scuba, did you lose the bolts? Buy the truck without them? I haven't removed the other manual hub so I don't know if there's a bolt on that side either. Oh well. If u havent had any problems then I wont worry about it.

Bought them without apparently.

I didn't end up taking that hubs apart until about 1.5 years into ownership and said... "HUH...Thats odd."
