Torsion Bar adjuster bolt confusion

Searched and didn't see anyone asking this. Anyway normally I am good with part numbers etc etc, but confusion with the adjuster bolts.

http://www.off-road.com/trucks-4x4/t...ent-19258.html

says the bolt part numbers are 90101-12104 for the 86-88

But looking on toyotapartszone it says the # is 90101-12118. http://www.toyotapartszone.com/Page_...onentsIndex=54

The 89-95 #'s that off-road.com says is accurate and matches toyotapartszone. But TPZ says qty required = 2 for the 90101-12159 (89-95).

But when iamsuperbleeder ordered them there was 2 in the bag: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...r-bolt-212238/

So when I order these from the dealership, do I order 1 90101-12104 or 1 90101-12118 or 2 90101-12104 or 2 90101-12118 ? Same with the nut part numbers says qty required = 1 on TPZ is this because there are two in the bag for that part number or?

i think its one for one usually dealers don't do quantity of 2 so i would say u will need to order 2 of each, not if u ask the parts guy at the dealership he can look on the computer and see how many come in the package.

yeah that's where part of the confusion is. When looking at TPZ it says qty required 2. but does ordering 2 result in 4 or is that 2 on that package just because you orderd qty 2 and if you ordered 1 that bag would say 1.

And I don't trust the parts counter at my local dealership. 92_Toy understands why. ONe of the reasons being I ask for a price on bumpstops and she didn't even know WTF I meant. hahaha. So yeah, I ain't asking any questions to her.

Have her print out the appropriate parts diagram for your VIN so you can point to or circle the parts you need

still doesn't solve the part number discrepancies and how many bolts and nuts are in the package.
I originally though maybe one part number was for 1 bolt and the other part number was for 2 bolts packaged together, but since the 89-95 numbers match and there was two bolts in iamsuperbleeder's package I don't think that's the difference.

I just purchased all the hardware for the torsion bar on a 93. I used partszone part numbers and they matched up with the dealership no problem. That number was for 1 item. not the amount required for the truck. Hope that helps.

me: "i need a tube of FIPG"

her: "what year is your vehicle?"

my experience is that "QTY REQ" is to explain to you how many you will need, but are sold by the individual piece. so if you need "X" amount order "X" amount.

also....I have a coupon here for the Hazleton Toyota dealer....let me check it out....it's 10% off. in looking at my receipts from MOTORWORLD....the "paid" price and the price they list on their site were different.

basically, just make sure what you need and get it at the best price.

EDIT:.....clearly NOT 10 nuts in that package (those are the 3 little babies I need to get my old lazy butt under my truck to put on my exhaust manifold to the down-pipe)

ok called the dealership, didn't get the woman I usually do, took the guy a ltitle bit to find what I was looking for but came up with the same #'s that toyotapartszone.com comes up with.

90101-12118 $9.86 x2
90170-12025 $6.36 x2
90170-12004 $2.28 x2

$39.22 for the both sides including 6% sales tax.

He also said it wouldn't be multiple bolt per package.

Also called another dealership about 30 minutes away.

90101-12118 $12.80 x2
90170-12025 $7.64 x2
90170-12004 $4.90 x2

$53.72 for the both sides including 6% sales tax.

90101-12118 $7.89 x2
90170-12025 $4.71 x2
90170-12004 $1.52 x2

$29.93 for the both sides including 6% sales tax. from Independence Toyota in Hazleton.

90101-12118 $5.92 x2
90170-12025 $3.54 x2
90170-12004 $1.14 x2

$21.20 + $9.50 shipping 5-7 days = $30.70 total From http://www.dealerdirectparts.com/

Total: $30.68 including shipping if I order them from TPZ.
Total: $29.54 including shipping if I order from TPE.

Talk about rip off dealerships around here. There is one more around here, gonna have to find out the name of them though.
EDIT: nm, Jerry just answered my question when I was still typing this. LMAO.

I'll ask here instead of a new topic. I'm going to put bj spacers in and then relax the torsion bars back to stock height.
Should I just go ahead and order new nuts and bolts for the adjusters? It's a 1993 runner.

if your in a salt belt like the PA guys are, I would.

Just rememeber the #'s for the 93 are different then my 97.

Still not sure why off-road.com mentions that different part number. TYPO maybe? If so that's an expensive typo.

Thanks guys. I assumed so, but wanted to make sure. I'm in Iowa and just had a rusted through control arm mount repaired, so yea, plenty of salt.

so unless iamsuperbleeder sees this and says different, then he paid for 2 and they put 2 in that bag. And if he ordered 1, then the bag would have still said 2.

29.93 from Independance toyota in Hazleton.

I had him run that other part # discrepency too. He said it looks to be the 2WD torsion bar adjuster bolt. I am gonna do some more digging on that too.

Boy that guy was kinda nice. He laughed at me when I told him about MotorWorld not knowing what a bump stop was. hahahaha.

Cheaper than TPZ and not enough to matter from TPE.

As far as those $22 bolts, the 89-95 bolts seem to be a little cheaper than the 86-88 ones and you only need 2 nuts and not 4.
