Standard/Metric Brake Line Fittings

Alright so I stripped both the threads and shoulders off my brake line fitting trying to replace the flex hose in the rear. Donno how it happened, but whatever.

Call Toyota for a replacement flare nut fitting (10x1.0mm) and of course they laugh at me saying that I can't just buy a fitting, I need to buy the whole rear assembly for $25.

I'm certain I have dealt wit this before, but I can't remember if I used a 3/16" standard fitting or if I went to a brake specialty shop. I need the car by Monday and the only brake specialty shop is closed on Sunday and about 30 mins away.

If I just put on the 3/16" standard fitting, will it work? I've got a flare tool already...so I 've done it before but can't remember

So I find it interesting this was moved to Newbie tech. I tried searching the "normal" tech forum and didn't find anything.

What also is interesting that the mod had time to move the post but not answer the question? Thanks!

Not every mod is going to concretely know the answer to your question.....and the part you were looking for is pretty basic as is the question 'bout standard or metric so newbie tech might be a good place for this even though you're not one.
Just hazarding a guess.
