Question Have you seen this fob?

I got my truck couple of weeks ago and cannot seem to find the alarm box under the dash. I have an attached pic of my fob. The horn under the hood is the generic "National Securities" or whatever. Does anyone know what type of alarm I have here? I have tried all sorts of combos to see what the purple button does but so far it does nothing. I do have a valet switch by my left shin and the light is to the left of the steering wheel.

sounds like someone did a good job installing the system if you can't find the brain. At first glance I'd say it's a Sidewinder remote. Sidewinder is made by DEI, same makers of Clifford and Viper. Sidewinder remotes are that same color grey with blue buttons. Definately an older model by the shape. All the new ones are rounded.

**actually, on second look, that is not a sidewinder remote. Their older ones have different button placement**

No help here.

Try this site. It will help you find a replacement remote. By doing this you should find out what your alarm brand/model is.

Did you try replacing the battery in the remote?

The alarm brain might be under the driver's seat, or buried up under the dash. Did you dismantle the bottom half of your dash to get a really good look? Also check behind your glove box and behind the ash tray area.

I don't recognize that remote either.
