I have all the parts for the double stack center console in my 87 4runner. The only parts I'm missing are the hinges. I'm sorta making do at the moment with pieces of piano hinge but they don't sit right. Have any of you found a solution to this?

 

Ah damn, I was gonna suggest piano hinges. Can you post pics of what's wrong with it?

 

I'll get pictures in the morning but the spot where the hinges mount is a little bit recessed, this means that flat plates on the hinges don't allow the lid to sit right..

 

how about using a dremel to create a recess for the hinge pin to sit in? I keep waiting for the plastic hinge on my center console to break, kinda amazed that it's lasted 23 yrs.
