37's or 35's on my 88

Im going to be purchasing new KM2's in either a 35x1250x15 or a 37x1250x17. I will be running Marsh Beadlocks either way. The total cost of each is 35's = $1591.00 V.S. $2452.68. What would yall think. I am currently running a 36x1350x15 IROCK.

Looks like you have room for the 37s. Hows your gearing/axles? Can they handle the 37s?

well i can roast the 36s in 2wd with my 456 gears, also I have dual transferases. the over all measurement of the IROKS = 36.6 and the 37'' Km2's = 36.8, the 35" km2's measure 34.8, so If I went with the 35's it would seem like I would be lossing two inches. but almost a grand cheaper.

well i would consider two things. is this a daily driver? if so id go with the 35's better with the gears you have and cause they will see alot of road wear its almost $1000 cheaper with the smaller size. BUT if its more offroad driving go with 37's and enjoy.

Boduke, where are you from? Do you ever wheel in snow? My 35x12.5x15 KM2's suck in compact snow. I should have got the siped when I got them. They're pretty good on the street and on the trails, just dont go show wheeling without chains and/a winch!

You must not know how to air down my km2s rocked in the snow, only other tire i'd buy new would be iroks.
Now for the OP go 4ds if you can roast your iroks

x2 I dunno if I could stand spending so much more for a slightly bigger tire. Why not go with IROK's again?

Well this ant my daily driver, how ever it is fun to drive on the road every now and again. I wheel here in the Northern Kentucky area and I have had Great experiences with he Km2's. I had a set of 35x1250x15 on my 97 jeep TJ that I had. It was long armed 4 linked front and rear and when I added the KM2's it was unstoppable, even in the snow it did great. I think that the KM2s would last longer than the IROKS I got now. the 36" IROKS on there now are not even half tread but I want to get some MARSH RACING beadlocks and just figured I would go ahead and upgrade tires while Im at it. I considered 37" toyo MT's but I heard they are still very hard when airing down.

you are correct about the Toyo MT's...I am running 35x13.50x15's. Plus they don't clean out for crap even with wheel spin..
too bad you aren't closer, I would make an offer on your Iroks...

If you're not absolutely dead set on KM2's, you could be double beadlocked and DOT legal for $240/corner(with the pvc inserts) plus shipping.

Niyad, I was running 10 and then 8 psi. We were in 2+ feet of snow.....I was the third truck in the group with the first truck running 39.5" boggers breaking trail, the second truck running 37" tsl's (which suck in the snow) then me. Both trucks in front of me are locked front and rear, I'm locked front and rear, and have a 7mge so I've got lots of power. The truck behind me was running 33" truxxus m/t's and he was open front and rear and he was having to wait for me to get up some ˟˟˟˟ cause my km2's were not hooking up on the compact snow. Like I said in my first post, they did well in fresh deep snow, but suck on compact snow.

i didn't run in the snow above 4 psi, no beadlocks just alum wheels 15x8. but i never had a problem and i'm open/open. only thing that was tricky was ice.
just my opinion, i never had an issue with km2s no matter the conditions.

As far as the hummer beadlocks with wheels, those tires suck. I am in the army and have gotten humvees stuck many times in mud, the dont hook up reall well here in ky. I guess the big factor is which rim size to stay wth 15'' or 17'' There is a $50.00 difference between the two size rims @ marsh racing.

Alright, good to know. Never been out that way, so I didn't really know what conditions you'd see the most.
