1980 transmission in 94 2wd truck

Well, I bought this truck about a month ago and decided that I wanted to swap the old transmission fluid out with some new Mobil1 syn. After purchasing the new pan gasket (for a 94) I realized that the new gasket had 19 holes and not 14. So of course I headed back up to the local parts store to see w.t.f.? Guys told me that Toyota had two automatic transmissions in the 2wd that year but they don't have the other gasket. Anyways, after about five parts stores I finally walk in one where one of the guys has a clue. Make a long story short the transmission and rear end are out of an old Toyota truck with a 20r. I believe they stopped making these in 83. I ended up talking with a guy at Toyota to find out the capacity of the 4 speed transmission and he told me 4 quarts if I drop the filter. So, that's what I put back in. Now I am wondering if the dipstick and tube were replaced as well or if they were compatible. Anybody know what all has to change to do this kind of swap. Surprisingly the overdrive still works or at least surprising to me. I'm reading about 1/4" over the top hot mark when hot so I don't think that would hurt anything. Anybody know how this transmission compares to the 5 speed automatic?
