I recently bought a fantastic 1984 longbed 4x4, but since it's the '84, it's bed is rusted pretty badly. Since it is next-to impossible to find a bed of that generation (other than fiberglass, which is just too expensive for my little beater) I was wondering if anybody has successfully used the bed from a '78-'83 On the '84-'88. I've seen a couple of threads that show the '89+ bed and it looked OK, but I wonder if maybe the older bed would look better.
