Hey guys, I am blowing the fuse for my parking lights/dash lights. I have pulled all the bulbs and harnesses where I can. I have disconnected the dimmer switch. Still blowing real fast!! I have not pulled any dash lights yet. It started the other day when I went to start the truck with the parking lights on.

I have not done any wiring to the truck so I am stumped...

I have looked for frayed wires but havent seen anything. Before I tear the steering wheel off to replace the switch, is there anything else I can do???

 

i had just the same problem yesterday on my 85 but my brake lights werent working either. i took the wiring harness loose from the tail lights to the plug on the passenger side floor board and found that the exhaust had burnt throught the harness and a wire was shorted on the frame.

 

Is there a trailer wire converter on your truck? I had two go bad on me, one shorted out & blew fuses, the other back feed & caused other lights to come Darrin

Thanks for the replys...I found 2 wires touching together in a boot back by the tail light harness. I am not sure what it was for but with them taped up, everything is working.
