MaK92-4RnR's 3.4 Swap

You read right... and it's official. The 3.0 has been great to me but lately it's just becoming a hassle and because of its difficulty to work on it, I've refused to touch it here on out. I've been contemplating buying another vehicle, but I love my Runner and want to see a 3.4 through. I'm sure I'll be able to make a pretty penny with my 3vz since it only has 150k miles on it plus it has headers, so I guess we'll see. ( No I wont be running an extravagant exhaust on the 3.4 ) I'll be using a ToS Crossover. So stay tuned!

Progress:

2" Body Lift

Performance Accessories $152.99

Everything it came with. I was surprised to see it came with shifter extensions for both the transmission and transfer case.

Directions

Better view of the parts

Warning sticker advising me that body lifts cause a higher center of gravity, yada yada.

and I found this funny. it truly is an advisitory sticker.

Motor:

Going to be installing the BL in about a week or two. Still haven't talked about a clutch with Marlin yet. Been pretty busy at work.

Deciding on my BL currently. I'm gonna go with a performance accessories 2" BL. Figuring out 4Crawler's ordering process is a damn trivia game. The Performance Accessories 2" BL is on sale for 152 bucks anyway.

Just send him an email. My body lift was here in about 3-4 days and everything was perfect.

Good luck on the swap!

I was. I'm just sick of working on the 3vz. I'm just gonna swap the 5vz. my truck isn't a DD, but i've been busy with work lately, so i'll be able to take my time with the swap.

I already ordered a Performance Accessories one for 152! They're actually on sale this month from 4 wheel parts. they only sell 2-3" but the 2" is 152 and the 3" is 130 bucks. shipping is free if you pick up in store.

Lol not at all. I thought the 3vz would be alot more friendlier to me by doing headers... I love how the truck sounds, but sound isn't everything if it doesn't run right. the 3.4 will do me alot better. Better numbers ( torque, ponies, and MPGs ) I'm not gonna go all out with the 5vz. gonna run the TOS Crossover, into my stock downpipe and then into a cat. I'll use the same muffler thats on my truck now for the cat back.

Hey don't mind my ignorant question, why was the 2"BL $20 more than the 3"? I might pick up that kit this weekend 4wheel parts is 25 minutes from my house.

The 2" is a much more desirable kit. Also, I believe the 2" kit comes with more things ( shifter extensions, fire wall plate, etc etc )
