Have a bad input bearing in a L52 tranny, so am looking for a 83 factory service manual or L52 rebuild manual. I can find a lot of 84+ online but nothing for 83. Any ideas where to find one?

 

Ebay, or google it. I know a guy on here Flek bought one brand new. Don't have the link on hand but if you can find his build thread it's in there. I think the thread might be "ready to buy" or something like that...

I see you have a mostly stock 83. What gas mileage do you get? We put a 88 22RE in ours and got about 17 on the first tank, was expecting a little better.

 

I must still have some emissions issues going on...I'll probably switch to a Weber sometime. Right now I get about 18 hwy, 13 in town. Not good. I know these trucks can do better than that, so I'm guessing I've got plugged/malfunctioning emissions stuff that ought to be pulled.

Right now my tranny is going out again and I really don't feel like pulling it...so it's sitting in the garage.
