99 runner ...could these 2 issues be related?

About a month ago, I figured my fan clutch was bad so I replaced it with an autozone part ( i know ..save the speech).

In the past, my 99 runner would only not shift in the morning during the cooler months of winter....never in the summer.
Now , in the summer with the autozone clutch whirling uncontrollably and never
ending........the trans would delay shifting every morning without fail.

After a month of insane hurricane whirling under my hood and realizing my rad is clogged, I returned the autozone part and replaced it with the original clutch.
No whirling............. and crazy enough........no more trans delay of shifting in the morning.

any connection ??
Thanks , Kenny S>

The transmission will delay shifting until the engine reaches close to its operating temperature. If the fan never stopped spinning, the engine would take longer to reach this temperature. So, yes.

>130 degrees at the CTS, or ~2600 RPM. Either of those conditions must be met for the trans to shift to 3rd.

I've done a lot of research on fan clutches, and I've realized that most of the aftermarket ones are "bad". Meaning, they don't work. They are basically "on" all the time. Not sure what the problem is, but I see this a lot. Happened to me on my Dodge Dakota. Went through 2 of them with the same problem.
