So I finished the 4:88 swap on my 92 yota 4x4 truck. I love the new found power and how smooth the take off`s and shifts feel when turning over my 33 inch tires.

I started the front diff change over today. I tore apart the new front 4:88 and stripped it down to ready it for my trucks long drive axle to remove the ADD system. I noticed that the short passenger side axle had a fair amount of wobble to the axle. I been searching around (including FSM) for what the service limit to the end play is and where its measured.

Can anyone tell me if they have encountered the wobble and what you did to correct it? Does it even need corrected? Should I replace the needle bearings?

Doing something like this now. putting 4.56s in my 87. I srtipped the add stuff off last weekend, and didnt notice any wobble. Ill check this weekend or next, whenever I can get in the shop again. Good luck!

 

My local dealer cant find the needle bearings inside the 4runners front diff without a vin# of a 4 runner that has add system. Anyone got a vin I can tell them?
