In the near future i plan on doing the battery and afm swap, extending the wires for the afm is no big deal, but i had an idea when it comes to extending the wiring for the starter and fuse box connections. Most pictures that ive seen of these wires it seems that extensions are just spliced on to the existing wires and and then ran to the battery. So i was looking at power blocks for car audio systems and found a few that would work. What i thought of doing was running the starter power wire and the fuse box power wire to the power block and then run a 4 gauge power wire from the battery to the power block, that way i only have one wire going to the battery instead of two and it would make for a cleaner install. So give me some opinions on this, good or bad.

 

Hmm, seems like that will work just fine, given you can find a fuse that'll handle it.

I just extended it, but I used a battery terminal to connect them so I didn't have to cut the wires, making it reversible.

Not sure if anyone has tried this. So give it a shot and let us know. If it doesn't workout then you can just cut and splice like normal folk.

 

I have a 1 gauge wire from the battery, to my winch cutoff switch. My fuse panel lead and starter lead are attached to the same lug on the switch. Sort of the same as what you are describing. I also added an additional 8 gauge lead from the alternator to the battery. When I get my H.O. alternator, that lead will be upgraded to 4 gauge.
