Hollister hills pics
As usual, the bay area get together was a success! We had 5 rigs show up, representing all generations of 4Runners: Scott in his newly acquired 1st gen, Tony in his sweet, yellow non-SUV 1st gen, me in my 2nd gen, Pete, in his silver 3rd gen, and Candido in his black beauty 3rd gen.
Here are 2 pics of us airing down at the gate:
We started off at the bowl and played around there for a while. Scott, who had just picked up his 4runner the day before, found that his hub was missing a part, preventing it from locking.
After that was discovered, we went to the obstacle course and play on the stair steps, and the teeter totter. Then we went to the hill climb and watched a late model landcruiser (the one before they went to ifs) do a bonzai run and get at least 3 feet of air off the ruts. Hopefully, candido caught that on tape. There was also a hummer that made the hill seem easy. Click here for a movie of the hummer.
Scott left early then and the rest of us continued to the top of the hill for some lunch.
Then we went back down to the obstacle course to watch a couple of kids get extracted from the mud pit. These guys didn't even know how to unscrew shackle to put the tow strap on. The problem with doing to mudpit at hollister is that when you get stuck you are gauranteed to get your picture taken
.
Among the parking area surrounding the mud pit was this land cruiser. Notice the blender.
The last bit of excitment happened when Tony and I were at the air station airing back up. One of the hoses suddenly spit out the chuck and the hose flew through the air violently and randomly. We finally got the valve closed and the rangers came over in disbelief. Too bad we didnt get a movie of that.
Anyways, here are some more pics.

Lookin' good Steve.
Looks like all had a great time.
That is too bad the white 1st gen had the hub trouble.
I have seen pics of that mudpit before. I'm sure it's swallowed up many a victim.
Radical paint on the truck with the Can-Back and Load Warrior roof rack.
Have to go check out the vid in a few here.
Hey, I almost thought I was looking at my bumper in this pic.
I also see what one can do with those spare holes I mentioned in your bumper post.
Good place for extra tow hooks.

As for the bumper, that's why I took that pic -- to try to get an idea of the size of the arb bumper and mounting for my bumper.
Well, time for lunch,
Steve
