Ok well hello im new to this place and ive tried to figure out what's wrong but i have no other choice but to ask this question . When i pull in to my drive way i turn my vehicle off and a few minutes goes by and i started hearing a buzzing sound coming from under my hood . I seriously thought some sort of bee or bug got caught under it because thats what it sounds like . I tried un plugging my battery to see if the noise stops but it doesnt . Even hours after the engine is turned off a i hear a buzzing almost either electrical or buzzing sound coming from the master cylinder area . Could it have something to do with my clutch ?
Anyway ive never heard of anything like this , so it cant be a good thing , maybe something is getting ready to go bad ? any help much appreciated .

PS i tried searching but i couldnt find anything that sounded like my issue .

 

It's the evap canister releasing gas vapors. It's totally harmless, but since people were annoyed by it, there was a fix from Toyota. It's a little plastic box you put between the canister and one of the hoses and it traps the vapor and stops the noise. The part has been discontinued, but Jaques at trdparts4u.com found me one. I'd send him a message and see if he has anymore. I have a 3.4 4runner, but I think our Evap systems are the same.

My Tacoma has been doing that since I bought the thing. Sometimes it buzzes when I have not driven the thing in a week. The sound has become reassuring over the years.
