From the ground up to the bottom of the frame at the end near the rear leaf shackle attaches. I need it from someone running the 2" OME rear leaf springs. I think I need it from someone running the same gen as mine. An 87 pickup, but not sure. I cannot use a measurement from the stock spring guys/gals.

The reason I need this is because I am making a rear bumper and need to know how high my rear bumper is gonna sit, so I know if my bumper will be too high, after I put on my OME leafs. My rear springs are way flat so a measurement on mine or anyone running flat springs will not work.

Let me know what size tire your running too. whether it be 31's or 33's, 35's etc etc. As this will affect my measurements.

Looks as though I will have about 6" of play from where my current frame sits from the ground to where I can legally have my horizontal plane sit as far as height goes. Should be plenty to run the 2" springs and 33's but I want to be sure. That's 3" total lift combined with the springs/33" combo. Hopefully my rear springs aren't sagged more than 3" from where they should be.

Wouldn`t it be easier just to replace the springs and no doubt shocks the tires . then you know where your truck will sit.

If you have ten people measure their will be that many different measurements.

Do you want a measurement with the bed empty and spare tire removed gas tank empty

 

I can't drive the truck right now without a bumper and don't have the extra $300 for springs plus the cost of 33's. Bed empty I guess will work. gas doesn't matter. I don't see the measurements being be more than about an inch or so off.

 

I'd wait until you are lifted and on the proper tires before "guessing" at you ride height for making a bumper. Ready. Fire. Aim.

 

OK, never mind then. I understand this is not an exact way of doing this. However, making a new bumper bracket if I am off from where I really want the bumper height to be will be cheaper than paying the fine related to driving this thing without one. I will just rely on the fact that I have right now about 1 3/4" margin of error before I wind up being above the 29" maximum height from the frame rail to the ground. Hopefully my rear springs are not sagged more than that. or that the OME leafs will not give much more than the advertised 2" of lift.
