Question Tire 35x15.50x16.5 What Wheel Size ???

getting 35x15.50x16.5 Super swamper tsl sx's going on a 1990 Toyo 4x4 Pickup Dlx xtra cab v6. 7" lift

I found wheels that are 16.5x9.75 and 16.5 x 12.0
What wheel would be better ? And I would like to know what the difference if any in performance is there between having a 15" wheel compared to having a 16.5 ?

The bead mounting surface on a 16.5 is terrible, it's super skinny and has a slant too it. So don't plan on ever being able to air down without bead locks.

Arent most if not all 16.5" wheels 8 lug?? If so then you cannot run those unless you cut out the centers and weld in a 6x5.5 pattern in there...

Regardless the 12" wheels will suit a 15.50 a lot better than a 10" wheel. And I'd stick with 15's simply because once you wear 'em out, it's hell trying to find anything for a 16.5 wheel, as where you can't go anywhere that won't carry something for a 15" wheel.

Ya go with a 15 inch rim tires and rims are much cheaper than that of what you would pay for 16.5 inch rim and tires. As mentioned above they are a pain to mount but any tire shop should be able to bead them. Many companies are phasing the 16.5 tire out. You can get a 16.5 rim in the 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern but with the market for that tire being phased out it would be a waste of money.

Yep, I have learned alot about tires in the last 2 days. Im still trying to understand why its hard to mount a 16.5 rim/tire. But it dont matter. I already put money down on 4 Super swamper tsl sx's 35"x15.50x15

This lady has 35x15.50x16.5 tires on 16.5x14 rims. And I was about to buy her tires/Rims but heard that those 14" wide rims wouldn't do well with my Yota.
