94toy4x4fever's 1994 Pickup Build-Up Thread

Well the time has come for me to do this swap. After being tired of the lack of power of the 22re and were I live there are hills that I have to drive up everyday and need some extra power. So far I have a 7mge engine with 45,000 miles on it along with the ECU and wire harness, AFM, 5sp bellhousing, clutch fork, slave cylinder, cressida front pump oil pan and pick up. I also ordered a alum radiator that is 1 3/4 thick and is made to cool a v6 and a 16 inch electric pusher fan with control relay. I still need to get the 22re out and this will be a slow build mabye lol. So after I get the 22re out it will be for sale. Some of you might think Im crazy about pulling the 22re with only 6000 miles on it but Im tired of it!!

So on Friday Im going to get the engine tore down and put a new timming belt on it and tighten up the head bolts. Then a little bit of painting. So I will try and get the 22re out next weekend and hopfully drop in the 7m next weekend also. I will just have to see how busy I will be! Keep in tune I will be moving along here shortly!

Hey another this I wanted to bring up is I got a 16inch cooling fan and it came with the temp control relay. On the instructions they say to use the temp sensor in the head or in the intake manifold. I was thinking about putting it in the water neck! what you guys think?

man you have one good looking truck, but ya i have had all types of glasspacks, flowmasters, ans straight pipes and the cherry bomb extreme sounds the best. im about to change it however and take the cat off and put a 8" glasspack in its place. that should be very loud. lol

Well the fraight company delivered the engine this morning and it wasent what I wanted to I had to send it back! I asked the dude on the phone if this was a complete take out engine will all the external parts on it like efi stuff and intake stuff, he was like yeah it comes with everthing. It shows up at my house looking like a long block with a little bit of stuff on the engine. So the swap got a wrench thrown in already. Im still looking for a take out engine with most of the external parts!!

Well I found a engine! Recently rebuilt better to go that route rather than worring about the head gasket going and timming belt also! So I should have it next week some time! Swap is back to rolling status now!
