Can anyone tell me if there is anything special that i will be needing i have ordered the hanger kit from sky and i got a firewall plate and the ifs steering box, so far


any help is greatly appreciated

 

You have a lot of reading to do. Go to pirate and read the sas taco threads, really read them. Do the same on ttora. When you think you have everything you need. Post up a list of what you've got. Until then, keep reading.

 

i have done my many hours of reading the reason i was asking is because there are things people dont say about the fabrication they had to do, so i was writing to find out if there was anything i should be purchasing before i get into it because i would like to have it done in a weekend and not have it be an ongoing project. for instance the french shackle hangers compared to just going like boomerang hangers, that is what the kit came with so is that what i really need or should i just go with the boomerang.

again any help is greatly appreciated i just want to know everything i need before i start so i can go start to finish.

dana 60 perches
sky is building my high steer crossover kit for my dana 44
machined knuckles
firewall plate
bilstein shocks
shock hoops

 

What are you doing for springs ?
What are you doing for a steering shaft ?
How about front bump stops ?
Brake lines/Adapters ? Steering pump to IFS box lines ?
Frame plates ? Plate the hell out of the front of the frame

1 Weekend for a first time is unrealistic. Give yourself at least a week to have it drivable. A SAS is an ongoing project period, even when you think your done you'll still find more things to do or things you need to fix or change.

 

i am a first timer and will not be doing to fabricating, that would be my buddies who have done multiple ones just not on a 2000 tacoma which i have. i just want it to be as painless on them for parts, i want to have everything there so they dont have to go and come back everyother day and such

I SAS'd my pickup in 2 days by myself, first timer. Not a Taco but the process is the same. Torch, cut, grind, grind...grind...grind...grind... grind...........grind some more, fit, weld, drive, pimp.

Simple.. Have an axle READY to go, rebuilt, not neccasirly BUILT yet but ready to roll, springs, hangars, steering... Shocks? Shock hoops/mounts...steering.

Last thing you'll mess with is a driveline.
