Where the heck does this hose go???
1986 Toyota I4 4WD 5-speed with a carbureted engine.
The battery is at the very front left of the engine bay, up against the backside of the winshield washer fluid reservoir.
Pretty much right below the battery is a black, plastic, cylindrical device, roughly 6" tall by 4" in diameter. Out the top of it is a narrower, black rubber hose, with some padding / insulation, maybe one foot long, that leads.....nowhere. It's not attached to anything, but is has a spring clamp still on the end, like it DID attach to something.
I can't figure out where it is supposed to attach to! What is the black cylindrical device and where should that hose attach to?

that's a charcoal canister...don't need it...unbolt BOTH of them, (theres one up by the firewall) and throw them in your garage floor...
unless of course you have SMOG...then you need to plug them back up
lol i can't remember where it goes...look for a 22R vacuum diagram (for your year) and it will tell you..i promise!
