HydroLocked

Long story short, my 96 Taco 3.4 with 410000kms on her has coolant in the cylinders, so much so that when I tried to start it, it made a horrible noise that sounded like something let loose in the motor. When I bought the truck a year ago the guy said that the head gasket was gone. I drove it for a year with no issues until I let it sit for a month and now this has happened. I still have to confirm that it is coolant but Im pretty sure cause the rad is empty. What should I do now, pull the plugs to get the fluid out, change the oil and see what happens. I figure because the truck hadn't been used for so long the seals dried up.

I have the same issue goin on but no hydrolock. I was drivin and coolant started shootin out my exhaust. We pulled the engine apart and need a new head gasket and head on the yota. U pry need to tear down and clean all of the coolant out of the engine.

It depends on how long you cranked on it and whether or not you bent a rod(s). If not, you could pull the plugs and get all the coolant out of the cylinders, do new plugs, of course HGs, and do as many oil changes as it takes to get the water out (that is if it even mixed with the oil - it could have just gone into the combustion chamber and not the crankcase). You should have the block and heads resurfaced so you don't deal with this in another 30-50K miles, but this is all dependant on if the rods are ok. From the sound you described, my guess would be that a rod did bust and that was the very unmusical sound of a new engine. Sorry, sux.
