1UZ-FE 95 4runner auto swap

Now im going for the 1UZ-FE swap.... I have another question. I know the transfer-case mine is hydraulically driven by the auto trans. So I cant use it because I will end up swapping the transmission out of an ls400. So whats the best transfer-case to use? And as far as driveshafts go I know that people had to lengthen the front by 5inches and cut the rear by 5. Will the tcase require any modifications to slip into the stock drivelines?

Yes, the Pre-runner adapter. When you do that you will need to get a standard 85-95 4cyl/5spd gear driven toyota transfer instead of your auto tranny chain tcase on your 95. If you can find one a 23 spline tcase from an 86-87 Turbo truck is stronger but not necessary. The prerunner adapter can be bought with either the standard 21 spline or 23 spline turbo tcase spline adapter. I think you will also need to do something about the driveshaft flanges. The automatic's and 5spd's aren't the same.

You can use your hydraulic case . look over on lextreme member Madmont did this .

you will need a few extra relays to work the transfer case.

here is a couple links ,not the same tranny but more or less the same idea.

again look up Madmont on lextreme he had a good right up on using the hydraulic case with the lexus tranny.

If you decide to go the 21/23 spline route, the bolt pattern on the manual transfer case matches exactly the bolt pattern on the Lexus gearbox! You just have to shorten the output shaft for it to fit. Here's the link for it on the sister site: http://www.hiluxsurf.co.uk/forums/sh...ad.php?t=55797
