Flooding

I have an 89 3.0 Runner that has trouble starting. If I try to start it without giving it gas, it will turn over and immediately die by flooding--I took two front spark plugs out and were doused with fuel. If I press the gas pedal as soon as it turns over, it starts fine. Anybody have an idea?

if it runs alright after you start it or only floods part of the time,it might be a bad temp sending unit for the ecu. the ecu over fuels the motor thinking it is colder than it really is. it might also be a bad fuel regulator.

Thanks for the reply! As I understand things, that temp sensor is on the back of the 3.0. Would you happen to know where specifically?

Maybe its a spark issue? Stops sparking but keeps pumping gas for a seacond, making it look like its flooded? Just a thought.
