rebuilt 93 3.0 starting issues

Hi All,

To make a long story short I have a 93 4runner.
I sent the 3.0 in for a rebuild and I now have a 93 block with 92 heads.
When I try to start it, it will fire once and then just turn over. I smell fuel after a few cranks so I think it is flooding?
I undo the battery and let is sit and then it will fire again and then just turn over.
I know the timing is correct.
Does anyone know if the 92 and 93 ECU are the same?

Thanks

Gordon

Assuming the timings correct....

If the motor fires very briefly and then quits...I'd look at the MAF sensor on top of the airbox...make sure she's plugged in correctly.

Also...run the codes and post what you get. If you don't know how to acquire the codes...run a search on here...I'm sure they're posted...or go to the downloadable FSM.

The ECMs should not make any differences....I've seen auto. ECMs work in manual rigs and vice versa...I wouldn't recommend it, but I have seen it. I'd stay with the same type of ECM if I were you, just for peace of mind...auto to auto or manual to manual.
