Cmon brian, you should know they stopped making top shift cases in 1988.

The short answer, is yes a 1990 W56 case will fit a 93 W56 trans, and vise versa.
marlin used to have ALL this info on his website, but looks like they are revamping the website, as the old links are all dead

Technically the 1990 is a W56C (forward shift) and the 93 is a W56E (also forward shift). If i remember correctly, the only difference is in internals. Flanges, mounting, and shifters are all the exact same. Just make 100% sure they are both W56 transmissions with the gear drive cases behind them. While rare, Toyota also offered a G58 trans which had a chain driven case.
