Help!! 94 Pickup making noises.

My 94 Pickup is making a grinding type noise coming from under trhe cab. it does not sound like its coming from the engine but inder the drivers side floor. It starts in 2nd in med RPM's, when i turn the truck off and coast it still makes the noise. it started after a day of big rain, it felt like the distributer cap got wet and then a little after that the noise developed. Maybe something got stuck somewhere, im not sure. any help would be great.

Jack the rear-end until the wheels are off the ground, chock the front ones, and get a friend to put it in 2nd and give it gas while you (carefully) listen around the various areas you think the noise is coming from until you find it.

It sounds remotely like a worn u-joint problem, so I'd say focus your attention first on the two u-joints on the drive shaft. If those aren't the problem, then check the clutch, it could be slipping, maybe some rain water got in.

Do what Magnusian said, and also spin the wheels, could be a bearing going out.
