I am curious as to the fuel mileage guys are gettin with a 4.3L swap? I have a 1990 p/u ext cab with a 2.4L in it. its sittin on 31's, stock truck basically. i live in the mountains and need more power. i'd also like to save on fuel. anyone have a fairly solid number? I also have a slight lead foot(maybe a little more than slight...........) thanks

 

I got about 14 and that was with a built 4.3 in a 2nd gen pickup and I have a pretty heavy foot.

 

I am getting 16 to 18 pretty consistantly but that is with a megasquirt tune that I programmed instead of a stock ECM

In town I average 15, on trips or freeway 17 mpg. The last trip I made out of town I averaged 17 but that was alot of dirt road cruising too! I think if you drove strictly highway you'd do better, but what fun is that.
