Roof Rack Leak?

After a nasty snowstorm; there was a pile of snow on the roof of the 95 Runner. It took a few days to melt; I noticed an interior leak coming out of the rear roof panel over the rear quarter panel window on the drivers side.
The only place I can figure the leak is coming from is the screws holding the roof rack on. Anybody ever hear of this?
I guess the plan is to take the rack off and seal the screws with silicone seal.

I have experienced this on occasion on my '98. I too believe it has to do with the mounting of my rails. When I get a chance, I am going to pull the rails off and add some sealant.

FYI..also consider that you can also get some backing up of ice and water from the rear quarter window vents. A neighbor just did this, and I'll see if we can get pics if you want for this next process.

Carefully pull up on the lower rear corners and see how many year's worth of dirt and debris is piled up in there. If you need to flush it all out, turn all of your heat/vent stuff to closed, park the rig on a steep uphill, and use a pressure washer, starting at the part where the windows meet the frame and flush in and back. Then, through the front weep hole and rear weep hole, then, down into the vents.

You'll have junk bubbling out for a bit, but they'll clear really well.

Never knew the rear windows had vents. I'll check that out.
