Question about a Lift Kit, please let me know your opinion.

I want to get an ARB Bull Bar for my 03 tacoma. ARB recomends getting the Old Man Emu lift kit for my truck to help support the weight of the bumper and winch, which is about 200lbs. The lift kit is only 1.75inches and according to ARB will not effect my ride. My truck is my daily driver and only vehicle. Im concerned that a lift will mess up my truck and could possibly break things. We've all heard the horror stories. Please let me know what you think.

A lift mess up your truck and break things?

Im thinking no. Especially since you are only doing the lift to support the additional weight, therefore sinking the truck down close to its original height.

There are different OME lift kit options. I have 883/891s w/ a ARB bullbar (no winch yet), and I got 2.5-3" of lift. No problems. Really the only potential problem you might come across is your stock CV axles might not like the new angle and the boots may throw grease - nothing a $25 diff drop can't fix.

Usually only stock CV axles are affected. My boots tore after a year or so, but the next set of CVs have lasted a long time w/ no signs of premature wear.

That lift will be fine and won't affect anything.

Cant remember the number, but I purchased the heavy duty coil springs and they are great! Nice firm ride. Good stuff from OME.
