Questions about rpm and gas pedal

I have a 1995 3vze 4runner with 202xxx miles on it and anyways im wondering what should the rpm be???....when i first got it the rpm would be at around 1500 (cold start) little more and some times alittle less and warmed up idle would be below 1000, from what i remeber around 800...not sure if the rpms where rite so i adjusted my idle and know idles at the same at cold start and warmed up rite at 1000rpm...sometimes alittle more...does that sound rite???

and then my gas pedal...when i first got it it was soooo STIFF feeling, so i did the ISR mod helped alot, alittle bit of wd40 on the the throttle return spring, that helped, cleaned the the throttle while it was still attached so i didn't get it completely cleaned...thought i fixed it...no stiffness what in parked at ALL, just when im driving it at press it around 1\4 probably a little less than that and the stiffness is there...and then after the stiffness is gone, its just around that area....REALLY hard to explain my problem

Thanks if you read this

1500 cold, 850 or so warm is about right. But the cold idle could be different if it is colder or warmer outside. Either way though, warm @ 850.

Keep working on the throttle and cable. Speaking of which, how did you adjust your idle?

To adjust the idle all i did was adjust the idle screw, and im guessing the TPS was off, the reason i think so i because when the motor was running the TPS screw was not touching the TPS, so i adjusted that until it was touching the TPS. And when the motor was warm everything sounded rite.

And as for the gas pedal ill try messing with the cable and see what happend

Thanks

Sounds like you are confusing the TPS with the dashpot valve.
