I'm doing a sepcial group buy on 4Runner Alteaza's. These only fit 96-00 4Runners.

so how come it won't fit my 4runner.....

 

Well, they will fit, but I don't know how the wiring will work. In 2001 toyota changed the wiring harness.

2001-2002 models are only ones with the newer harness. You could still buy them, but if you can't get them to work, you would have to throw them up on ebay or sell them to someone else with a 96-98 if you want to see if you can get them to work.

The lights should fit '96-'01. For some reason the wiring harness changed for the '02 model. Even though the '02s look like the '01s. Thats at least what my local Toy parts dept told me. All any '02 owners would have to do I would think is to buy a '96-'01 harness at a junk yard or dealer.

oops...I meant the lights should fit '96-'02. The '02s have the odd harness....

 

Actually they changed in 01. I upgraded to the 2001 tails and there is a complte new wiring harness that has to be changed. I don't know WHY Toyota did this, but it effects 01-02's. I would love to know their reasoning behind this.

By the way:

The Altezzas look waaay better in person. I was alittle concerned when all I saw were the pics. They are a very nice quality, fit great and look nice in the daytime and at night.

I kinda want them....only because I like my 4runner to stand out, although I guess because it doesn't fit mine it's telling me to hurry up and spend my money I saved up for my alarm and screen before I use it...gotta go make that appointment now...btw i'm giving the audio shop my digital camera and they are to be instructed to take as many as they can and i'll post them after I sort through all of them, what fun will that be, I would sit there and take the pictures myself but they said it was going to take all day and I don't have all day to sit there and take pictures

 

Hey Jason do you know anything about the Altezzas' for 90-95 4runners? They are listed on clearlights.com however there is no picture. Do you have any other information about them? I'm very interested but there's no way I'm gonna buy without a picture. Thanks

 

That's a misprint for 90-95's. They have to be wrong.

 

Why do you think that it's a misprint? They have the 96-00 listed separately so it's not like they just put the wrong year on them. Also clearlights.com has their 96-00 altezza's for 179.95 as a regular price. So if you don't get the amount of people you need then that might be an option.

 

Clearlights.com do offer 2nd and 3rd generation "Altezza" style lights for 4 Runners. Im not sure if the pick-up(pre-Taco days)ones are interchangable with the 1st generation 4 Runners.

Call them and ask them. I've checked this before only to find out they aren't avail for 2nd gen "4Runners" yet... If they have them, then you are in luck.
