Question 1988 4Runner Lift Kit Help

Hello All! I have a question. I have a 88 4Runner. v6 Man. trans. stock height. I was wondering what is the better lift kit to buy between the ProComp and Superlift IFS Lift Kits? I intend to keep the IFS instead of doing a SAS. I would like to fit 33's on 15x10's. I dont want to a body lift. Please help! All input/ help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A little emoticon overload there, eh?

Anyhow.... Bj spacers won't keep tires from hitting fenders. Installing those spacers may make the truck sit higher, and that's obvious if you do what many do and install them and relax the torsion bars so you have the same ride height. The spacers do nothing to keep the suspension from compressing just like stock, so if you have bigger tires than stock, if they would've rubbed before installing the spacers, they will probably rub after installing the spacers.

But your question was about ProComp vs. Superlift.

I'm a fan of ProComp's lift since that is what I have, but I have the Stage II kit which has the reinforcements from the lower arm mounts to the frame. I think Superlift also offers a similar configuration but I can't be sure.

You can fit, with some difficulty, 31" tires on stock suspension. A 4" lift like ProComp or Superlift will let you put 35" tires with little issue. So a 33" tire is a no-brainer.
BUT you will probably need to re-gear, depending on the gears you have now.

4inch ProComp lift/Alignment issues?

@ abecedarian>> Planning to go with the ProComp stage1 4inch lift on my 88runner. Going to run 33x12.50's. It comes with the braces you're talking about. Was wondering what size lift you have and if you've had to fix any alignment issues. I'm green @ this blogging mumbo jumbo. I've been a yotatech watcher for bout a year now but only joined up as a user couple nights ago..so I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place. Feel free to let me know the error of my ways..I gotta learn somehow!

Cool Blocks vs. Shackles

Nice lookin runner Richard! Your pix along with what kawasakilewis posted is really helping me reconsider my whole plan for that 4"ProComp lift @ this point. Want it really bad but it's a pretty big chunk of change for now considering I'm about to adopt a 5yr old (& OSAMAOBAMA doesn't like my small business) ..Hey Richard!!! you should just give me yours SERIOUSLY: Anybody got any good links for me to check out on bjSpacers? & which would be the better route for Shackles vs 2" blocks for the back?
