Welded Rear Locker

I have a truck that I'm going to use primarily for wheeling (not dd) and I was thinking about welding the rear. I'm not sure how I should go about it so any tips would be greatly appreciated. If you have experience with a welded rear I would like your opinion on it.

Thanks

I only recomemnd doing this if you are not going to DD it lol. I have done this before I have seen time and time again where people have just welded the spider gears up and they have broken later. My buddie and myself did it to a f250 we completely welded the spider gears together then welded the spider gears to the carrier thus creating a spool. In the end it worked great many many clutch drops later and its still around lol. The only thing is is that you sacrifice your carier so be prepared to commit.

look up lincoln locker in google, there are a few good photos of people who added thick plate in addition to the welds.

There's a FAQ in the offroad tech section about welded diffs.

I'm actually getting the third member for free from a friend, if that makes any difference.
