The ball and claw style axles? Well they are known to be the weak point in the early FJ's. Also, they aren't very desired because you are unable to do a disc brake conversion easily.

What exactly are you looking for? Diagrams? The axle housing is also different/smaller than the post 67(?).

Well, i would suggest getting a set of later style FJ40 inner axles, grinding inside the ball (for clearance on the birf) and slapping that junk on it! Use the birfs from the mini, one of the axle shafts might be the correct length but i can't remember off the top of my head, ih8mud tech has all the info you would need there. The mini rotors aren't the best but a bunch better than drums!

Edit: i am assuming you realise that you need the entire knuckle setup and will need different steering arms...

Hell no, go ahead with it. you need to use the minitruck birfs, knuckles and breaks. You will need one or 2 inner axles though.

Birfs are great!
