will a 98 tacoma 4cyl work in a...

95 tacoma 2wd? these are both 4cyls and 2wd. a friend of mine has a 95 ineed of a automatic transmission and i found one from a 98 with a 102k miles for 600 plus 200 to install. there both automatics btw. thanks

It depends if the truck is a 95 or 95.5 model. But both tacoma and 4runner share drivetrain and transmission options.

I got a hold of my buddy at a salvage yard and these are the vehicles that will interchange with your 1995 2wd 4-cyl Tacoma.

TACOMA 95 2.4L (VIN U, 4th digit, 2RZFE eng, 4 cyl, 4x2)
TACOMA 96 2.4L (VIN L, 5th digit, 2RZFE eng, 4 cyl, 4x2)
TACOMA 97 2.4L (VIN L, 5th digit, 2RZFE eng, 4 cyl), thru 5/97
