2000 Prerunner 3.4L 2WD Trans Fluid Capacity

I have a 2000 Prerunner with a 5VZ-FE engine that is 2WD and has an automatic transmission. I recently drained the transmission fluid by removing the pan so that I could check the filter. Upon refilling I assumed the owners manual stated fluid capacity of 1.7 qt would be sufficient. It wasn't, 2 qts didn't even reach the tip of the dip stick. I had to add a couple more quarts. My question is, what is the correct capacity? Thanks in advance for your time.

All the manuals for 3rd gen 4Runners are wrong on trasnmission fluid changes. Mine says 2.something quarts for my A340F, but it takes nearly 5. Yours is an A340E which isn't much different so I would except 4-5 quarts. Anyway just keep adding a bit at a time until it gets to the correct level.
